Blogger VS WordPress Which Is Better Platform For Blogging?

If we talk about Blogging many questions hit our mind, but most frequently asked question is ”Which Blogging Platform To Choose?” Many newbies come across this question and get confused. There are many blogging platforms like Joomla,WordPress,Blogger,Tumblr,TypePad etc.But most popular platforms are Blogger & WordPress because they have won hearts and attention of Bloggers towards them.According to me newbies start with Blogger and then come to wordpress. If we talk about beginners they will always like to choose a platform which is easy and provides them features for free.Usually every beginners creates his/her first blog on Google’s Blogger.Yes, Blogger is owned by Google and hosted by GoDaddy while WordPress is a self-hosted platform. So now let me discuss these both in detail.

Good Points Of Blogger:

There are many points which indicate that blogger is better platform than wordpress. No let me list some of them:
  • Blogging on Blogger is totally free.It gives you unlimited space/bandwith forever and that is why I say freebies love to blog on it.Only thing you need is to buy a domain for your blog from any cheap domain name provider. No worries you can also blog on without domain with a .blogspot sub-domain but I prefer to buy a domain because it gives your blog a professional look and builds trust too if you are selling some products.
  • You dont need to buy premium templates for your blog because they are free of cost while some templates sites sell premium templates too.You can customize templates easily and free. Check: Top Blogger Templates
  • Blogging on Blogger is very secure. You only need to secure your Gmail address with 1 step verification. You cannot be hacked if you dont tell your email address to anyone and secure it.
  • Blogging on blogger is too easy and I think everyone can blog on it.Its just like updating your status on Facebook.
  • Blogger gives you a full back up of template + posts and you can easily shift it to any other platform or re-publish your posts in case your blog gets deleted.
  • If you blog on Blogger you will also get a benefit of AdSense because both of them are owned by Google. It will also help you to approve AdSense.

Conclusion:

If you are a beginner and thinking to start blogging then I recommend you to choose Blogger as your starter platform and after one year you should move to WordPress because WordPress is SEO Friendly and has more features as compared to Blogger.

Good Points Of  WordPress:

  • WordPress is a self hosted platform and I suggest you to choose cheap & reliable Web hosting for it.You can access all files & root directory of it and can control it all, and the best thing is you dont have to take tension of being kicked out like on Blogger.
  • WordPress provides you awesome premium themes which give your web a professional look.Theme customization is too easy you dont have to mess up with HTML/CSS like on Blogger.
  • WordPress is much SEO friendly than Blogger because it provides lots of Plugins which make your site SEO Friendly and do some of your tasks like remove spam comments automatically.
  • WordPress plugins are free and do much of your task and save your time.

Conclusion:

WordPress is also a good platform for blogging but only if you have some experience. If you are a beginner then I recommend you to start with Blogger and then move to WordPress. The best thing of it is it’s SEO Friendly.

OverAll My Opinion:

Both platforms are good for blogging and both of them are also having bad points.Blogger is not good because you cant access files and Cpanel.Blogger has bad customer support and blog on Blogger can be deleted any time. The only bad point of WordPress is that its not secure. Now you will be waiting for my opinion. If you ask me then I prefer WordPress but if you are a newbie you should start with Blogger and at least after 6 months when you would have earned good from your blog shift to wordpress. Now I will say good bye to you all and its my request to you that please comment and share your experience on both platforms.Dont forget to share this tutorial too.

Blogger deletes your blog without warning you if you host pirated content, copied content,do spamming, hat speech, target others etc.If your blog is caught it is deleted automatically and disappears from your blog list. When you appeal it takes at least one month for your appeal to be reviewed. That is why I mentioned in the post that blogger has bad customer support. On WordPress your content/blog cannot be removed at all.

  2. When I start blogging I first choose blogger platform because of free to use and easy to handle. But in blogger designing content is pretty hard. But in word press you can do anything using plugins.
no doubt WordPress is the CMS system so far. But WordPress cannot as secure as blogger.

Thanks for writing such an awesome article Haroon Bro. 🙂
